Green Bean Tempura
Ingredients
- 2 quarts sunflower oil
- 1-cup all purpose flour
- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) beer
- 1 pound fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
- Salt to taste
- 1-cup water
- 1 Tbs. dashi granules
- ¼ cup mirin
- 2 Tbs. soya sauce
- 2 Tbs. line juice
Preparation
Heat the oil in a deep fat fryer. In a medium bowl mix the four, sesame seeds and beer until smooth. Roll the beans in the flour mixture to coat. Deep-fry the beans, small batch at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Add salt to taste. In a small bowl mix together the water, dashi granules, mirin, soya sauce and lime juice to make a dipping sauce.
